ACTIVITIES OF CAMEROON

The commemoration of the African Child day was mobilized for two days with 300 WCY from 12 WCYA member towns.
For its preparation, each WCYA was mounted a marketing folder to mobilize resources from local partners. This has been the origin of the WCYA’s of participation.
The programme consisted exhibitions from each member town in Income Generation Activities, cartoons, stories and activity reports from these towns. Each town had a tent in the in the main square in Mbalmayo town were the festival was taking place. There was also a concert with dances, skits, a fashion show and poetry.

wearing T-shirts, banners, posters and giant drawings  
In the afternoon, the WCY organized a debate on "The street children in Cameroon, do they have chance of making it? ». In this debate, they are recorded the personal participation of the Mayor of Mbalmayo town, a youth from Mbalmayo, the President of the Women's Network in Cameroon Central Province “FERAFCAM”, the Okola town representative of Social Affairs , the coordinator of the EMICAM NGO and CEPRODEJETCAM.

WCY achieved several objectives including:

  • Visibility in Mbalmayo town due to the various WCYA Advocacy activities.
  • Mbalmayo town offered a lot of material and there will be involvement of authorities and supporters in the future
  • Development of communication
