EXECUTIVE MANAGERIAL MEETING IN DAKAR,SENEGAL
The Executive Managerial Group Members from Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Senegal,Togo and Mauritania

At the end of the EMG meeting, the members released the statement below on the broad outlines of their meeting

Dear WCY, Friends, Partners and supporters

we members of the Executive Managerial Group (EMG) of the AMWCY held our
meeting from 5 to 14 July 2010 in Dakar, Senegal.

From the 5 – 7th of July we had the first part of our meeting with our partners from Save the Children Finland, ILO, ENDA TM, Plan, Terre des Hommes and UNICEF. The workshops’, discussions revolved around the programming of the project "Reducing exploitation of working children in West Africa”. This meeting was organized by Save the Children Finland, to find out the following:

- An update on the State of the progress of the Project
- Analysis of priorities, opportunities and challenges to identify towards specific project activities
- Formulate recommendations for future programming process.

Focus Group Discussions enabled us to highlight activities of the goals expected, name partners we can rely on to conduct these activities and help us with our challenges etc...

We identified issues on which we will conduct activity, which include;

- Capacity building of the WCY in consulting, listening and peer mediation so that they are able to prevent and address violation of child human rights for a better organization and communication within the AMWCY and expansion of our movement’s activities in the rural areas with the ability to advocate for our activities with authorities and partners
- Strengthen the capacities of youth facilitators in the AMWCY so that it increases their ability to address key issues through participatory methodologies suitable for children.

From 8 – 14th July, we continued our meeting at the Enda Third World offices. This time, we focused on the activities of our movement.

We made the semi-annual budget for planned activities of our movement and also examined the computer and training requests presented by some countries. We analysed the different supporting documents, invoices and profomas of these countries. We also read and approved the quarterly reports of the activities of the movement.

We met our partners and discussed with them:

- On Friday 9th July,the Regional Advisor of Save the Children Sweden, Mr. Enyon Gbedema visited us at the Enda Third World Offices.

- On Monday 12th July, we discussed with Mr. Manuel Finelli from Save the Children Finland on how the project of the reduction of the exploitation of Working Children in West Africa, will be financed.

On the 13th July, we received a visit from our partners:

- Mr. Mansour Ndiaye of Plan. With him, we discussed about the creation of a project on the education of the girls to be submitted to Plan Holland. If it is accepted, this project will relate to 3 countries: Benin, Mali and Togo.
- Ousmane SEYE Raymond, Director of PARTNERS SENEGAL for Democratic Change, with whom we had a discussion on the possible Contribution that he and his Cabinet could bring to our movement in terms of capacity building of the AWCY, so that we enhance our organizational abilities.

We took decisions for the WCYA, National Coordinations and national support structures:

- Countries should update the statistics of their members and send to ENDA in Dakar before the end of September 2010.

- Before Purchase of any equipment, 3 profomas must be looked for . Profomas must be presented during a committee meeting for the selection of the supplier/suppliers.The Minutes of this meeting must be sent to Enda Third world office. After the purchase the definitive facture with the paid and delivered stamp must be also sent to Enda Third World office.- The support structures must sign the certificates indicating that the WCYA and national coordination, have received the support funds.
